Bring:
- Your own canoe or kayak ( or rent one )
- Lifejacket
- An Extra set of dry clothes
- Sunscreen
- Sack Lunch and water bottle
- $2.00 for the dock fee at Cathlamet
Duration:
We will be on the water about 3 hours, including lunch. We are invited to Margaret's house afterwards
Itinerary:
We will paddle from Skamokawa to Cathlamet. This is about 7 miles, through sloughs. Only 1 mile is in the open river, and we will stay near the shore. We will have lunch on the bank of the river. We will paddle by the location of an old Indian village mentioned in the journals. We will follow the route taken by the Corps of Discovery in Nov. 1805.
Canoe/Kayak rentals are available at Scappoose Bay Kayaks, the Skamakowa Paddling Center, and other locations.
