Columbia-Pacific National Heritage Area proposed following the success of the Lewis & Clark Bicentennial, our congressional delegations are pursuing a National Heritage Area designation for the region of the mouth of the Columbia River region in Oregon and Washington. Lewis and Clark - Indiana connections. As the marker indicates, the state of Indiana has an important, recognized connection to the Lewis and Clark Expedition. That connection was reinforced with a National Signature Event in Clarksville in October 2003. [more…]
